Jen AshtonJen Ashton, our latest Voltgirl feature, chats to Voltcase about all sorts of things - oh, and theres a selection of sexy pics, as well.....
Hello! Welcome to Voltcase, how are things!?
Hi! things are great as always, thanks for asking.
So, how would you describe yourself to a stranger in just three words?
Pretty freakin magnificent, ha ha!
Loud rock 'n' roll plays a big part in our lives here at Voltcase, are you a big music fan? Any bands or artists you might want to namedrop for us, or any unknown acts that you think we should check out?
Music has always played a huge role in my life, like an audible backdrop for all of my adventures and experiences. i love all rock from classic rock, 80's new age, old school metal, pop, to rap rock. i can definitely appreciate its evolution and the theme songs for my life that I've picked up along the way. right now, I've been turned on to a band named Major Maker, from Toronto, Canada. I'm not sure how i found them, but i think i'm in love with their music!
Now, on to the modelling – how did it all start for you? Was it something you always wanted to do, or did it just 'happen'?
Modeling just kinda happened for me. i remember as a girl i would look through magazines and wish with my whole little girl heart that someday i would grow up and look like the girls on those pages. ironically, just like every girls big hollywood dream, i was walking down melrose avenue in west hollywood one day in my early twenties and was approached by an agency. its been 10 years and alot of hard work, but in my latest shoots with my favorite photographer Corbin Wade, i've come to realize that i AM now one of the women i used to envy as a little girl!
Do you have any personal guidelines on what you will or won't do for the sake of a good photo, or is it pretty much anything goes? And if you do have any guidelines, have you ever been in a situation where you've had to enforce them?
My own personal guidelines derive from my artistic taste. I'm not into nudity for the sake of nudity. artistic or implied nudity i don't mind with certain photographers, as long as it is tasteful and classy. as a model, you are constantly being put in situations that may be uncomfortable or test your personal guidelines. it is your own responsibility to speak up and maintain your and integrity as a woman first, worry about your reputation as a model second.
For a lot of models, acting and modelling seem to go hand in hand. Have you ever done any acting, or do you have any aspirations to go into it?
i was an actress for several years. i've been in feature films, independent films, television shows, commercials, and music videos. it was cool for a little while, but not really my thing.
We're all a bunch of geek's at heart here at Voltcase, are you particularly geekie about anything in particular yourself – the embarrassing the better!?
I am a total crime geek! i love anything relating to real-life crime documentaries, criminal masterminds, CSI stuff, investigations and interrogations, etc. i even have the new CSI game for Wii... totally addicted!
If you were interviewing yourself, what question would you ask yourself? And what would the answer be?
Hmmm... If i were interviewing myself i'm afraid i may be mistaken for split or multiple personality, so i'm going to refrain from talking to myself on this one, lol.
So, what big plans, if any, have you got the rest of the year? Anything exciting going on?
Oh, glad your back and asking the questions! Ha ha! This year i am working on two major projects. the first, i plan to continue with the success of my new custom painted hat line on JenAshton.com. I launched my hats in mid may and have been super busy trying to keep up! Also, I am working on a new painting collection for the art galleries. I am collaborating with fashion photographer Corbin Wade, creating some pretty kickass high fashion art!
And finally, the question that we ask everyone that appears in Voltcase - what does the word 'Voltcase' mean?
I think there is a man with a briefcase who travels the earth chasing lightning storms. he sets his briefcase out in open areas during these storms and captures the lightning within it. he has been hired to do this, but no one knows by whom. he will get paid alot of money when his briefcase is full. people do not go near him for fear of the electrical charge. his behavior has been noted as "shocking." be careful, his briefcase has a warning label that reads "danger: high voltage," this is the VOLTCASE. |
