Drive-By Shooting Photography

As with most of our visual features, there really isn't much for us to say besides 'check out those cool pics over there!', but here goes.

Chris, of Drive-By Shooting photography, came to our attention a few months back and, it was only a matter of time before he, and his scantily clad lady friends, graced the hallowed pages of Voltcase. And what's not to like? Alternative, sexy, punk, goth, whatever - everything that we try and cover here in Voltcase is summed up in hand full of Chris's images, making him probably the most Voltcase-friendly photographer we've ever stumbled across! VOLTCASE INTERVIEW:

Hello there! Welcome to Voltcase, how are things?
Very good.Just done a load of gig pictures at Hard Rock Hell,and a lot of model shoots coming up in the next few weeks.

How would you describe your sound to a stranger in just three words:
I assume you mean style rather than sound? rock'n'roll'n'sex!


Do you have a background in the alternative scene, played in a band or anything, or did you just stumble across things as a photographer?
Worked in music retail for 6 years and then a record company for 17 years so always surrounded by it.

So, taking pictures of scantily clad ladies for hours at a time - is it as good a job as it sounds?
What the hell do you think?!!

Do you get any problems with the shoots at all - do curious passersby wonder what your up to, or do the models refuse certain things?
I have been pretty lucky regards passers by and I ALWAYS talk to models first about what they will and wont do. Other problems? Trying to get models to keep their clothes ON when I don't need them to strip!

Some of the locations you use seem spontaneous and almost 'stumbled upon' - do you prepare the set in detail first, or is it more of unprepared thing?
Mostly planned,although that's usually because I have stumbled on these location by accident in the first place and then gone back and shot there.

How do you find the Internet is working to expose your stuff - a good way of making contacts, or just an easy way for people to steal your photos?
As for stealing images..I feel its almost impossible to stop, so I don't worry about too much. I think the internet is a fantastic place for meeting people and making proper friends and of course networking....I get 90% of my work from the internet.

Loud punk rock plays a big part in our lives here at Voltcase towers, does music influence you at all, and do you use it while photographing?
Before I started making images, music was everything to me. I have "Music addict" tattooed across my stomach in huge letters! Although I do like a lot of punk, I'm also an old rock fan and love a lot of country. I pretty much like everything except opera and modern dance shite.

Why should the the lazy general public make the effort to check you out, and what are your plans for the future?
Don't check out my work for what I do, but for the girls that I get to shoot---everyone gorgeous!!!!
I want to improve and get better and better. When I am half as good as Lithium Picnic I will be happier, and until then I will keep working to improve. Also part of (another) new 'alt-girls' site that's launching soon.

And finally..... what does the word 'Voltcase' mean to you?
I always think of sexy girls, great artists, and rocking bands.
