Unique, fun, surprising - Voltcase chats to musician Lana about all sorts of stuff!

Hi, welcome to Voltcase - how are things?!

Things are fabulous

So, how would you describe your sound to a stranger in three words?

Unique, fun, surprising.

What could you say to convince the lazy general public that they should check you out, turn up at your gigs and buy your music?

I always perform my gigs in the nude... I don't but now your sitting upright; I'd say get off your butt and check me out if you're tired of the mainstream and want something new that won't compromise the integrity of your musical leanings, will make you tap your feet, sing along and want to throw flowers at the stage. If you want to see a top notch entertaining show with classy cool songs from a beautiful lass come see me. Afterwards you can buy a cd, go home and be lazy again with me oozing out of your walkman/hifi, all from the comfort of your sofa.

What do you guys think of the Internet as a way of promoting yourselves – is it an essential marketing tool, or just another way for people to steal your music without you knowing about it?

Well i always see it as a compliment when someone likes my music, regardless of how they get it. I've not been in the position yet to consider it stealing... The internet is pretty much in everyone's lives everyday so i can't really knock it. Obviously it would be nice if everyone had to go to the store and buy a hard copy but that ain't the way the world goes nowadays. Well, we met through the net, but also, my musical life has been much easier with it so, in sum, yes, i think it is an essential marketing tool, along with myself of course and my special agents who help me infiltrate people's lives through the cybernetic medium, we can reach a lot more people than without.

We try and promote as many local scenes as we can here at Voltcase, what can you tell us about your home town/s and the music scene there? Any bands that we might not have heard of that you think we should check out?

Well i'm from london innit so we're spoiled for choice, but i could say without hesitating you should check out 'Tom Mansi and the Icebreakers', 'Big Strides' and the 'Tricity Vogue Slinktet'

And, for anyone out there just starting out in a band, is there one piece of invaluable advice that you could give them to help them on their way?

Make sure there's only one diva in the band.

So, what's the most extreme rock-star type story that's happened to you while on tour or at a gig?

Drinking 22 tequilas, then stage diving into the crowd.

If you were interviewing yourself, what question would you ask yourself? And what would the answer be?

You look more beautiful in the flesh than in your photo, would you like to go out to dinner?!

So, what have you got planned for the rest of the year?

Oh my, work, tours, family dos, walks in the woods, dances in the rain, more songs, videos, interviews, gigs and a bit of home time.

And finally, the question that we ask everyone that appears in Voltcase - what does the word 'Voltcase' mean?

Voltcase- it's the name of the arch angel of the god of electricity who brought rock music to world and turns your gain level really high when no one's looking....
