Dirtseed
Reviewed: "Corrosive Thoughts" MP3
Dirtseed play modern sounding stop-startie metal from Australia. Rapping, little metal widdles, bad language and lyrics about pain and stuff.
The song itself is pretty good - short (less than 3 minutes) and to the point, with some good fast to slow bits and some really heavy drumming. Sound effects at the start and end are pretty cool too, whatever they are!
Anyone who's listened to any of the bands that people like Kerrang have been ramming down our throats the past few years will have a good idea where Dirtseed are coming from. And they do it well, if not entirely differently.
The song uses that Linkin-Parkie style shoutie backing vocals with emotional crooning technique in the chorus which, while sounding good, is a wearing a bit thin now and is undeniably 'nu'.
The best part really is the music itself - good riffs and backline combine well to make a cool sounding song.
Overall? Heavy & to the point - check em out!
The Best Bit: Guitar riffs. The Worst Bit: Nothing new.
