VOLTCASE LALO INTERVIEW:

Hello! Welcome to the almighty Voltcase, how are things?

Better than anyone could ever expect! I will be moving to San Diego to meet up with my lovely Soma Snakeoil and further our adventures on building our wonderful company Candy Scandals!

If you were talking to a stranger, how would you describe yourself in three words:
Fantastic, Fun, Insightful

A lot of your images are very dark in nature. Would you describe yourself as primarily a Gothic, alternative model, or is there more to it than that?
I guess that is what I will always be type casted as, but I am able to move between looks very smoothly. I could be your dark princess, demented angel or your charming happy go lucky cheerleader, but my mother did say to me once "we could put you all in white with no makeup and people would still call you goth" and so it is 11 years later and she is still right.

So, what can you tell us about this Candy Scandals thing - you're our third Candy Scandal here now, are you guys trying to take over Voltcase or something?
No, baby we are here to take over the world! We just want everyone to know we are not and never will be "SC" we will be a hell of a lot better! We are a model for models company, we are here to support all models experienced or not.

That's one hell of a tattoo on your back there - is it finished, or are you thinking of extending it? And have you got any other interesting tattoos about your person that you want to tell us about?
My wings are finished, but I am working on covering more of my body. I just had my ribs worked on, they are now covered with vines. To answer your question about "interesting tattoos"; I think all tattoos hold interest. They all mean something to the person that gets them. Even if its just a fashion statement or more deeply entwined with that persons soul like mine are they all mean "something". My meaning is a secret.

Of all the people that you've worked with, is there anyone in particular that you think we should check out here at Voltcase? Any unknown model that we might have missed, or a photographer that we might have overlooked?
Well that's a hard question because I have worked with wonderful models and photographers, I could never pick just one. For photographers I would have to say Bruised Illusions and GBI Graphics. As for models I would have to say Watch Out for CandyRipper, and Halo! They are soon to blow up! Everyone we work with and supports are dream could not be anything but the best!

Also appearing in this months Voltcase is Bruised Illusions, and by all accounts you guys have worked quite a lot together. How did you guys first hook up, are you old friends or was it strictly through work?
Well I just gave him props! I love working with Bruised Illusions! We meet through work and since then have become good friends. He is a very talented and chill photographer to work with. His graphic photography is amazing and everything he knows has been self taught which I think says a lot about a persons passion to do this kind of work. I want him to be a big kick ass star one day and I hope he will still use me on his business cards! *Kisses* Scott!

If you were the interviewing yourself, what question would you ask yourself right now? And what would the answer be?
So Lalo, why did you decide to become an alt. model?
Because I believe in all types of beauty. Some old time asshole might not think I or anyone else that resembles me is a beautiful person, but that way of thinking is FINISHED! We are here we have been here for decades pierced, dyed hair, tattooed, scarification, etc and we are not going anywhere so learn to appreciate the people that go through great lengths to show you who they are on the inside by wearing on the out!

So, why should the lazy general public make the effort to check you out?
Simple, I am amazing. I have hooked up with two other amazing women (Jenn Martin, Soma Snakeoil) to start something and keep it true "Candy Scandals"! I (we) never discriminate we love all (until you give us reason not to, then you better watch out). Other than that I am the best example of a person that looks and acts the way I do and I never let anyone change me! I went from working on 5th Ave. in NYC with movie stars and runway shows. And NEVER once did I let work politics change me, and believe me they tried. I ignored them and went on to be at the top of my Stylist career one could ever hope for at age 21. So here I am now just 3 years later doing the same thing but with a twist, instead of boosting already known stars I am helping new ones to shine.

And finally..... what does the word 'Voltcase' mean to you?
A lighting bolt of electricity that might jump start the mindless sheep out there to take another look at the world around them for what it really is. And Learn to Love It cause it is here to STAY!
